The fall colors of the Lofoten Islands in Norway. There is an interesting story behind the red color of most of the homes in Norway. The red colour was the cheapest to produce. It was created by mixing red ochre with cod liver oil (or other vegetable oils or animal oils). As a result, many buildings in farming lands or fishing areas where incomes were lower than average were mostly paint in red. This is why so many barns in the country side were traditionally painted red.. . . . . #landscape_lovers #WatchThisInstagood #landscape_captures #VisualsOfLife #livefolk #artofvisuals #liveauthentic #welivetoexplore #moutainside #mountainaddict #mountainlife #mountainlove #instamountain #mountaingram #igersmountain #ig_mountains #northernnorway #pocket_norway #thebestofnorway #visitnorway #ig_nordnorge #sortlandsavisa #ig_norway
